Reaching Sant’Agnello is truly simple, as the town is well connected to the rest of the Sorrento Peninsula thanks to the public transport services operated by EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno). These services run every day and are ideal for both residents and visitors.

The main lines serving the town are Line 007 (Piano – Sant’Agata) and Line 008 (Meta – Massa Lubrense), with multiple stops in the Sant’Agnello area and frequent runs throughout the day.

Linea 008: from Meta to Massa Lubrense

Getting to Sant’Agnello

Line 008 is one of the main EAV routes connecting Meta, Sant’Agnello, Sorrento, and Massa Lubrense, offering a direct and frequent service. The stops within the Municipality of Sant’Agnello include:

his line is useful for reaching both the town center and the hillside districts, with some services extending to Marina Piccola (Sorrento) and Marina Grande.

The 007 Piano – Sant’Agata line crosses the peninsula from east to west, connecting Piano di Sorrento, Sant’Agnello (including the hill districts), and Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi. The stops in Sant’Agnello include:

Navette – Linea C: from Sorrento to Trasaella

Getting to Sant’Agnello

The EAV Line C is active with departure from Sorrento and arrival in Trasaella, ideal for those who want to reach the village comfortably without using the car. This shuttle service is perfect for attending events and returning safely. It is advisable to have an ordinary EAV ticket which can be purchased at tobacconists or official apps.

Bus- Linea 1: from Siesta to Trasaella

Getting to Sant’Agnello

Line 1, active on the SiestaTrasaella route, also offers an enhanced service on the occasion of the festival.

Race times:

19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 21:40, 22:10 e 22:40.

The last three evening journeys (9.40pm, 10.10pm and 10.40pm) are free, to encourage the use of public transport.

Getting to Sant’Agnello by Circumvesuviana

The Circumvesuviana train line is one of the most convenient ways to reach Sant’Agnello from Naples or Sorrento. The station is located just a short walk from the town center.

To get to Sant’Agnello from Napoli Garibaldi, take the Napoli–Sorrento line and get off at the Sant’Agnello stop. The journey takes about 60 to 70 minutes depending on the train type (direct or local). Trains run frequently throughout the day.

Attention, while starting from Sorrento, Sant’Agnello is always the first stop; starting from Naples, you must be careful to choose the Naples-Sorrento route correctly, the only one that stops in the municipality of Sant’Agnello .

To travel on this route, it is recommended to purchase a TIC (Ticket Integrato Campania) valid for the Naples–Sorrento route, which can be bought at vending machines, newsstands, or station ticket offices. Always validate your ticket before boarding.

Special connections from Sorrento’s beaches: Marina Piccola and Marina Grande

Lines B and D mainly serve Sorrento but also offer useful transfers for those staying in Sant’Agnello, especially in the evening and on public holidays:

  • Linea B: connects Marina Piccola with several stops in central Sorrento, including Piazza Sant’Antonino, Via Rota, Hotel Vittoria, and return.

  • Linea D: serves Marina Grande, useful for those traveling between the port and the historic center.

Additionally, many runs of lines 007 and 008 depart from or pass through the EAV train station in Sorrento, a strategic hub from which Sant’Agnello is easily reachable by either bus or train.

Local Transport with Cooperativa Tasso

The Cooperativa Tasso operates the local public transportation service in the municipality of Sant’Agnello, providing year-round connections between the town center and surrounding hillside areas. The service is available 365 days a year, ensuring accessibility for both residents and visitors.

The Sant’Agnello – Colli di Fontanelle Line connects Piazza Matteotti with the hamlets of Trasaella and Colli di Fontanelle, making the panoramic inland areas easily reachable. Service runs regularly throughout the year, and during the summer period (June 1 to September 30, 2024), two additional evening trips are added at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM to facilitate later returns.

The Sant’Agnello Market – Piazza Municipio Line covers a route of approximately 3 km, linking the local market area with the municipal center. This line offers 3 trips per day year-round, ideal for running daily errands.

Getting to Sant’Agnello by SITA Buses

SITA Sud buses are a frequent and budget-friendly option for reaching Sant’Agnello from various towns along the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsula.

Costiera SITA 24h tickets (priced at €10) are valid for all routes that include Sant’Agnello, making them a convenient solution for getting around the Coast. 

Tickets cannot be purchased on board: you must buy them in advance at tobacco shops, newsstands, or local ticket offices. 

During high season, buses may be very crowded, so it’s best to board at early stops, such as Sorrento or Sant’Agnello, to increase your chances of finding a seat.

 

Linea 5070: from Sorrento to Amalfi

Getting to Sant’Agnello

Route: from Sorrento, the bus passes through Sant’Agnello, Colli di Fontanelle, Piano di Sorrento, Meta, Positano, Praiano, and Amalfi.

Frequency: buses run every 30–60 minutes daily, with higher frequency in the morning and late afternoon.

Duration: about 10 minutes from Sorrento to Sant’Agnello, and over 1h 20min to reach Amalfi.

Tickets: €1–3 for short trips, or unlimited access with the 24h Costiera SITA Pass (€10).

Linea diretta: from Sant’agnello to Positano

Leaving Sant’Agnello

Route: departs from Sant’Agnello and arrives directly at Positano (Chiesa Nuova), no transfers.

Frequency: approximately every hour, every day.

Duration: about 38 minutes.

Tickets: €1–3, depending on season.

 

Linea diretta: from Sant’agnello to Amalfi

Leaving Sant’Agnello

Route: direct bus from Sant’Agnello to Amalfi along the coastline.

Frequency: approximately every hour, every day.

Duration: about 1h 28min.

Getting to Sant’Agnello by Taxi or Private Transfer (NCC)

If you prefer to reach Sant’Agnello in a more comfortable and flexible way, you can use:

  • Local taxis, operating between Sant’Agnello, Sorrento, and Naples. The approximate fare to Naples is around €210–260, with a journey time of about 46–47 minutes.
  • Private transfers (NCC) or chauffeur-driven cars. Services such as “Sorrento NCC Taxi” offer custom transfers to and from airports, hotels, and coastal towns. Ideal if you’re traveling in groups or with bulky luggage.
